Technology
Decades have passed without changing the fundamentals of electric motors… until now. Even with innovations like brushless designs, traditional motors have often struggled to deliver the torque and efficiency needed for many applications. Enter ETM, A Graco Company.
ETM Transverse Flux Motor (TFM) Technology changes the game.
Powering Innovation
Core Capability

At the core of our unique design is an inner ring of copper. We’ve replaced the “rat’s nest” of copper wiring on a conventional motor with a simple, low resistance circular coil.
We Turned Technology Inside Out

Conventional motors feature copper wrapped around steel, but our steel stator is wrapped around the outside of the low resistance copper coil.
More poles = more torque

ETM optimizes torque by increasing the number of electromagnetic poles; we’ve literally decoupled the relationship between pole count (torque) and resistance (losses).
Real World Differentiation

5-10x increase in continuous torque per size vs. brushless DC motors using similar materials and cooling. Torque density and efficiency benefits apply across a wide operating range
Benefits of direct drive

More torque in less space — enabling product designs that conventional motors simply can’t match

Fewer components, less assembly, reduced warranty exposure — savings that compound across your entire product line.

High torque at low speed reduces or eliminates gearbox complexity — shrinking cost and failure points from your system design.

TFM’s scalable architecture adapts to your form factor requirements, not the other way around.

Broad operating range efficiency means lower energy consumption and longer runtime in electrified applications.

Validated across 15+ OEM programs in demanding industrial applications. Not just a concept — a trusted platform.
